Cancer Full Moon 13.01.25

Cancer moons always invite inwards to our emotional worlds, and under this full moon it feels like we are going to be finding some impactful clarity around our direction. Some have felt like they’ve been at a crossroads lately, trying to figure out the best path forwards. It feels like this uncertainty has really been present because on some level there is still much that needs to be released in order for us to move forward freely.

It’s interesting, my theme for 2025 is ‘Releasing Allegiances’, which for me is all about shedding old beliefs and stories about who we are that don’t truly resonate. It’s freeing ourselves from the limitations of some of the things we attach to. The 9 of swords and ten of wands in the reading for this full moon really highlight this energy - How the things we are still trying to hold on to that are no longer working or in alignment are actually what is causing us to feel stuck.

There’s a huge call for letting go under this full moon, and my feeling is that it is going to take some serious courage to surrender to this process and walk away from things that you may have invested a lot of energy into. This is going to impact relationships too, and some may find that there are some connections that have had their day and need to be released now.

Cancer is the embodiment of the water element - a very emotionally aware and intuitive sign, which is another reason why clarity is also going to come through here. We just can’t access that clear insight when we are stuck in our heads worrying about which way to go. So under this full moon get still and listen within. What does your heart truly want?

Of course as cancer calls us into deeper awareness of our feelings and emotions, we’re tasked with being more intentional about how we can take care of ourselves and our energy. This is a good time to reflect on where you feel nourished and alive and where you feel your energy is drained and make shifts accordingly.

Cancer is represented by the crab who has this tough outer shell but inside is much more soft and vulnerable. So under this moon you may be called to look at where you may be trying to keep up this tough exterior and how you can be a bit more vulnerable with life.

Another theme that’s present with this full moon is this sense of owning your power. It may well be that another factor that has been holding you back from this sense of direction is the fear of going against the grain. There’s a need to break away from convention and really connect with the way that you want to bring your magic to the world. It’s about realising that you have all you need to make something happen, you just have to believe in yourself.

It feels like there is movement here, with an undercurrent of change. For some this will create a sense of balance around work and finances. Some will be leaning more into projects where they can give back in some way.

Two final cards that came through for this full moon are judgment and the sun. This is a beautiful energy which is all about finding true joy and happiness in life through living as your most authentic self. It’s time to break free and live according to your rules and no one else’s. And it makes so much sense that this energy is coming though as we have strong Aquarian energy filtering through as we are approaching Aquarius season just a few days after this full moon.
